
Semi-Circular Kitchen Rug

Materials:
Peaches and Crème, article 980, Double
Worsted
Color 1 (sample uses #67, misty gray) about 2 oz
Color 2 (sample uses #4 ecru) about 2 oz
Color 3 (sample uses #2 black) about 3 oz
Yarn needles for weaving in ends
Crochet hook, US-K
Gauge is not important for this project, as the size is easily adjusted.
Stitches/Abbreviations used:
ch- chain
dc- double crochet
slst- slip stitch
yo- yarn over
C1- color 1
C2- color 2
C3- color 3
Directions:
Note: when changing colors do not carry unused colors inside your stitches. Drop the yarn, and pick it back up when you need the color again. Carry the yarn up to it’s next row loosely, you will work over these floats in the finish row.
with C1, chain 5, slst to first chain to form a ring
Row 1) ch3 (counts as first dc here and at the beginning of all rows) 5dc into ring (6dc)
Row 2) ch3, turn, dc in 1 dc, 2dc in each dc to end, changing to C2 in last yo of last dc. (12dc)
Row 3) ch3, turn, skip 1st dc, 2dc in next dc, [dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc] to end, changing to C3 in last yo of last dc
Row 4) ch3, turn, skip first dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next 2 dc, 2dc in next dc] to end, changing to C1 in last yo of last dc
Row 5) ch3, turn, skip first dc, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next 3 dc, 2dc in next dc] to end, changing to C2 in last yo of last dc
Row 6) ch3, turn, skip first dc, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next 4 dc, 2dc in next dc] to end, changing to C3 in last yo of last dc
Row 7) ch3, turn, skip first dc, dc in next 4dc, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next 5 dc, 2dc in next dc] to end, changing to C1 in last yo of last dc
Row 8) ch3, turn, skip first dc, dc in next 5dc, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next 6 dc, 2dc in next dc] to end, changing to C2 in last yo of last dc
Row 9) ch3, turn, skip first dc, dc in next 6dc, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next 7 dc, 2dc in next dc] to end, changing to C3 in last yo of last dc
Row 10) ch3, turn, skip first dc, dc in next 7dc, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next 8 dc, 2dc in next dc] to end, changing to C1 in last yo of last dc
Row 11) ch3, turn, skip first dc, dc in next 8dc, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next 9 dc, 2dc in next dc] to end, changing to C2 in last yo of last dc
Continue in this fashion, placing one more dc between decreases in every row, and switching colors at the end of every row, until rug is desired size (sample went to row 18) ending on a C3 row.
At the end of your final C3 row do not cut and secure yarn
Finish row:
Slst into the side of your last dc, ch3, dc into the
side of the same st, 2dc in the side of each dc, and the beginning ch5
ring, along the back of the rug.
Secure yarn, weave in ends.
Rug will require wet blocking.
