Materials:
Small amounts of 3 different colors of Peaches and Crème, Worsted Weight, article 930
Sample uses:
C1- #2 black
C2- #89-camel
C3- #95 red
Crochet hook- 4.5mm (US-H8)
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Gauge: unimportant
Stitches/abbreviations used:
ch- chain
sc- single crochet
dc- double crochet
hd- half double crochet
tc- triple crochet
slst- slip stitch
Notes:
· Colors are changed in the last yarn over of the last stitch at the end of each row. Drop unused colors, and pick them up when they are needed again, carrying them loosely along the side of your work. Do not carry unused colors through your stitches. The floats created by carrying the yarn along the sides will be covered by the edging.
·Each stitch will have one stitch worked into it, there are no decreases, increases, or open spaces.
Directions:
With C1 chain 32
Row 1) sc in second chain from hook, and each chain across. This is the only row that does not require a color change (31sc)
Row 2)ch1, turn, sc,( hd, dc, tc, dc, hd, sc) across, changing to C2 at end
Row 3) ch4 turn (counts as first tc), skip first st, (dc, hd, sc, hd, dc, tc) across, changing to C3 at end
Row 4) repeat row 2, changing to C1 at end
Row 5) repeat row 3, changing to C2 at end
Row 6) repeat row 2, changing to C3 at end
Row 7) repeat row 3, changing to C1 at end
Row 8) repeat row 2, changing to C2 at end
Continue repeating the two rows, alternating C1, C2, C3, in that order until piece is approximately square. Secure yarn.
Border:
Using any of the three colors
Attach yarn to upper right corner, sc in each stitch across the top, at last stitch ch2, sc crochet along the sc, working 1 sc in the side of each sc, and 3sc in the side of each tc. When you reach the end ch2, and work sc across bottom, ch2 work across sc across second side, ch2, slst to first sc in round, secure yarn weave in ends
For Dish Towel:
Ch 72, and make a base row of 71 sc, then repeat pattern rows until desired length is reached, work sc border.
